Stewardship Education

Unlike land in the rest of British Columbia, most of the land in the Gulf Islands is in private hands. Daily decisions made by landowners have a direct effect on the health of fragile island ecosystems.

Land owners are land stewards. As a steward, you are responsible for the other species that share your land. With a little information, it is easy to make decisions that benefit you and your land.

The Islands Trust Fund supports good stewardship by providing ecological information, maps, publications, and support to island communities, conservancies and landowners. We also work in partnership with local conservancies to offer educational workshops and programs.
