Conservation Planning - Our Achievements

To move towards the goals set in the Regional Conservation Plan 2011-2015 and Regional Conservation Plan Update, the Islands Trust Fund has developed a set of measurable action items. Habitat Protected So Far

Federal, provincial and regional governments, the Islands Trust Fund, and our island-based land trust partners are all working to permanently protect ecosystems in the islands. As of 2016, 17.76% of the Islands Trust area was protected by public and non-profit conservation organizations. The Islands Trust Fund's protected areas account for 8.27% of the total protected land in the islands.
